About

Our Mission

The Rayudu family established the Sri Sharada Seva Samithi Trust in 2013 with a noble mission: to offer exceptional primary education to economically and socially disadvantaged children in rural India. In 2016, their dedication led to the founding of the Indian American Academy (IAA) in the village of Aliabad, Telangana. Our sole purpose is to provide a nurturing environment for low-income students, empowering them to excel academically and transform the course of their lives.

Our Story

The Indian American Academy offers enrollment to 120 rural, low-income students in 1st through 6th grades in Aliabad, Telangana. We strive to enrich the lives of our students by providing them with healthy and nutritious snacks and lunches, clean drinking water, well-maintained bathroom facilities, school uniforms, and textbooks — all free of charge. We firmly believe that learning thrives through mutual respect and compassion, values that guide our every endeavor. At IAA, we implement a unique teaching approach and have a dedicated staff committed to promoting upward social mobility through quality education. Our students not only grow academically but also personally, enabling them to reach their personal goals.

IAA is a stellar school where teachers focus on the fundamental skills for student success. Students are held to rigorous academic standards and are encouraged to collaborate with peers to achieve success. In my 15 years of teaching, I experienced some of my proudest teaching moments at IAA.

I had an amazing experience volunteering at IAA. I helped teach English with an emphasis on building their reading and writing skills. I also helped make this website! Additionally, I enjoyed immersing myself in the vibrant Telangana culture.

I came to IAA in order to help students develop their English language speaking skills. I also assisted in the math classrooms, specifically aiding those that were preparing for the Navodaya exam. This was a life-changing experience for me and I would encourage others to join such a special community.
